Having been quiet all the way to Mountaingate, Suula looks up from trying to repair her fingerhails with a small rasp. "Only that it'll smell of sweat and old beer, and will be full of shouting drunken dwarves all day and all night," she says sourly. "It's going to be like having to wait in an old tavern while your uncle stops there, to spend a few hours to laugh and drink with his stupid friends."

"It's not nice to talk of Uncle Keeven that way," Shanni cut in, nudging Suula with her elbow. "He did a lot of good work around the gambling dens and to do that he had to keep in touch. He totally wasn't always swilling up to his ears in ale, ask Aunt Resia, and because of his problem he couldn't help smelling like that. It wasn't his fault."

"Besides, we both like a drink, and... " she cast a quick glance Toric's way, ".... I'm sure it won't all be about drinking and eating." She paused. "Or fighting, or axes. There's bound to be something else important. Like ... like .... mining?" She tailed off then picked up with a bright air, even if a hint of a desperate note remained in her voice. "I'm sure there'll be some wonderful opportunities to meet new and interesting dwarves!"

"Oh, most assuredly," Nihmri said, with a most weary sigh. "New and interesting dwarves who may or may not be hungry for our sweet, succulent human flesh, at this rate. I begin to wonder if we are cursed in some way, to find only trouble and misery wherever we thread."

Gulfwulf wrote://Could I have a recap of last session, LB? Too much has happened since then and I don't remember exactly what we did. Thanks.
You first restored a magical shrine that had been raided by a pale master/necromancer who was using its power to create powerful undead in the region. Then you went into the extraplanar stronghold of a mad wizard who had been transforming ordinary animals into terrible monsters. Those monsters had gotten out of his control and not only killed him, but began attacking the village of Mountaingate. From a journal he left behind, the transmuter seemed to be as crazy as the necromancer.

Next stop is Torgan's Delve, a dwarven city that apparently is in need of assistance. You were invited by the dwarf warrior that you rescued from the hill giant steading near Gateway.

Also, +1650xp for full-party IC posting.

After talking for a while with the old man Pius decided to turn back and rejoin his friends. Before leaving he thanked the old blind hermit for his wise words and asked how he could possibly have known his name. On the way back Pius smiled when he remembered the man's answer "Of course I know your name, the birds told me."

It was late night when found his friends. They were all asleep so he did not wake them. The next day, they left for the dwarves kingdom...

The Delve was about what Slade'd expected, a lot of well-cut stone halls and passages occupied by grim dwarves. However, he was a bit surprised to find a human merchant in residence. After his own visit to the dwarven merchants, he was dubious as to what the man expected to find available. The Delve was suffering its own woes, some sort of power was affecting the sleep of those staying there, though so far, he'd not experienced it himself. The dwarves didn't seem overly excited by the party's arrival or offer of help. He wondered what they would get out of this trip.
