Walking into the room she shared with the young rogue, Rahnee carried her bulky armor in her arms, soot and steel polish smeared across her face. She was surprised to find the rest of the Company casually sprawled across the floor and the bed.
"You all still here? I thought you probably would have headed off to the Council Chambers by now." She draped her armor onto a stand in the corner of the room. "Good, glad to see that they finally brought us an armor stand. . . ." Realizing that everyone was just staring at her, she paused and then turned around. "What?"
Returning from the armory.

Re: Returning from the armory.
"Oh, hey!" Shanni stopped shaking the tunic she was desperately trying to dry out and looked over as Rahnee entered. "Well, no, and things got a little more complicated too. We was just talking about it." Blue eyes flicked to the others before she continued. "Dermot and I got a visit from ... err ..." She paused, obviously fishing for a name, and then giving up. "... Darrow's brother, he came with some news we needed to know. S'a bit complicated, but here's what I think."
"He said that his boss said that there's two proposals being favoured," the young woman continued, carefully, as if trying to find the right words. "One is that they let us keep the stuff we got and we get 2 fifths of the gold itself. The other is that we get half of the gold, but we have to give the stuff back. Second one might sound a good deal, but that's where it gets complicated - cos that git Toran favours the second option."
"Now we ain't sure, but most of us think that the majority of the stuff we got isn't like to be worth anywhere near what that extra 3 fifths." Shanni continued, glancing at the others again. "Sure, we'd not find it any old place, but that was a big pile of gold and ... well, if we sold the stuff we'd not get that much. We're pretty sure of that anyway. So we get to thinking that maybe, just maybe, that means the bastard knows of something in the stuff that he wants."
"We just had a bit of a chat and," she grinned at Darrow, "if he does want something we got then he ain't having it. We kind of got an idea of what it might be, too. So we all want to go for the keeping the stuff and ... " She mutters under her breath for a moment. "... the gods help me ..." She spoke louder once more. "... having less gold. We all need to be in the same mind for the meeting, so you need to make your mind up too. And fast. "

[u "I have always gone with the majority, so I do not see any reason to change my ways now." Rahnee shrugged. "I am not saying that I would not have preferred the sweet warmth of gold, but I am sure you all covered the good and bad of each choice."She shrugged again. "I am good with your decision. But maybe if Tymora is generous, some day soon I will have Toran's throat wrapped around my sword blade."

"Weeeell," Shanni responded, with a grin developing, "we think it's that dagger I've got he's a wanting, and if I can ever figure out how to hold it without it slipping through my fingers, one day I'd like to oblige him!"

"Well then, since we are on a short rope, I suspect I should be getting cleaned up." She scooped up an elaborate fall of black velvet from a nearby wall hook and headed for the dressing screen. "And I really don't need any help so you boys can head back to your time to do the same."
