Out of game activities

Post by Carlo » Sun Mar 09, 2014 3:16 pm

As alluded to elsewhere, I plan to take a stab at updating the Campaign Chronicles over the next month. In addition to being valuable in itself, believe it should help the party better orient themselves regarding the various options before them, as well as remind folks of loose ends and other goings-on in the Dragon Coast that may offer opportunities.

The Chronicles take a considerable amount of time and energy, which is why they've lain fallow for a while. In addition, player contributions are encouraged, for example the stories included in the PC Vignettes collection that is on the Gateway to Adventure Westgate page. Since we may be off and on for a little while with the sessions, perhaps they might be one useful way of keeping engaged with your PC's plans and backstory.

I also welcome play-by-post where desired, so feel free to suggest an IC topic where appropriate.

Finally, I plan to update the downloadable map on the Westgate page, now that the party has discovered new areas.

I have always enjoyed play-by-post, but it has never been of much interest with prior players. I would love to participate if more people are interested.

I've grown to like it from conducting between session RP for LB's games. As long as the posts are short, so there's a chance to respond without too much happening, I enjoy it. It can be a lot of fun, but it almost relies on their being "time" between sessions to do it in. You can't go back and flesh out things, as outcomes are decided already, and you can't always move things ahead if there is some action that requires in game activity. Discussions are, to my mind, often better covered in posts. So, if that kind of thing happens, yes - I'd participate.
